TERMS OF USE

Terms for using Companion.

These Terms govern your use of the Companion consumer service provided by Kinvectum AB.

Effective: 22 August 2026Version: 2026-08-22
01

About us and these Terms

Companion is provided by Kinvectum AB, organisation number 559435-3715, incorporated in Stockholm, Sweden. Contact: info@kinvectum.com.

By creating a Companion account you agree to these Terms. Health-data processing requires a separate explicit consent described in the Privacy Notice.

02

The service

Companion helps users prepare for healthcare visits, record conversations they choose to record, transcribe them, organize transcript-grounded visit memories, maintain questions and medication information, share selected information, and create Care Circles where separately authenticated trusted people can follow or help manage a care profile.

Companion is an evolving consumer product. Features can change, improve, be limited or be removed as the service develops. We will give reasonable notice where a material change affects an ongoing paid commitment or materially changes these Terms.

03

Not medical advice or an emergency service

Companion is not a healthcare professional, emergency service, diagnostic service or treatment service. It is not intended to diagnose, triage, prescribe, recommend tests or recommend treatment.

AI-organized content and transcription can be incomplete or wrong. Use the original conversation, clinician instructions, prescriptions and official healthcare records as appropriate sources of truth. If you need medical care or urgent help, contact an appropriate healthcare service rather than relying on Companion.

04

Your account and care profiles

Your Companion login represents you. Do not share passwords or sign in as another person. One account can have its own care profile and can also be invited to other people's Care Circles.

A care profile represents the person whose healthcare information it contains. Care Circle roles do not transfer ownership of that person's identity. The subject/patient role is distinct from helper and follower access.

You must provide accurate account information, keep credentials confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Companion is not currently designed for independent child accounts without appropriate adult/legal authority.

05

Recording responsibility

You decide whether and when to start a recording. Laws on recording conversations, confidentiality and healthcare-provider policies differ between countries and settings. You are responsible for informing participants and complying with the rules that apply where you record.

Do not use Companion to make covert or unlawful recordings.

06

Care Circles and helping another person

Care Circle members use their own Companion accounts. A care profile can invite someone to Keep me informed (read-only access to the Care Circle view) or Help manage (permission to make changes and operate supported Companion features for that care profile).

If you help manage another person's profile, you must have the permission, authority or other legal basis required for information you enter, record, process or share. Do not represent yourself as the patient/subject.

For ordinary assisted setup of a competent adult, a helper can create a pending profile and configure Simple mode, but the person becomes the subject of that profile only by accepting the activation with their own account. Ordinary assisted setup is not a substitute for a legal guardian, parent, power-of-attorney or other representative process where one is required.

Care Circle access can be changed or removed. A follower or helper must not try to bypass their assigned access level.

07

AI, transcripts and patient-maintained information

Transcription and AI output are assistive features, not verified clinical documentation. Speaker attribution, medicine names, doses, dates and instructions can be misheard or misunderstood.

The medication wallet is patient-maintained. AI photo extraction creates proposed information only; it does not prove that a medicine is current, correctly prescribed or correctly dosed.

Visit action items and reminders are designed to reflect clinician statements or an agreed plan in the transcript, but important information should be verified against the conversation or healthcare professional.

08

Persistent Care Circle access versus temporary sharing

Care Circle membership is persistent account-to-account access until it is removed or the relevant account/care profile is deleted. Keep me informed access is intentionally narrower than helper access and does not include raw transcript/recording data through that role. Help manage access can include sensitive health information needed to operate the shared profile.

Separately, you can create a time-limited encrypted snapshot. A temporary share link or QR code is a bearer credential: anyone who receives it while active may be able to open the selected snapshot. Temporary sharing does not create a Care Circle membership.

Receiving information through Companion does not automatically make the content part of a clinician's medical record or verify the content clinically.

09

Your content and our permission to process it

You retain your rights in information and content you provide. You give Kinvectum the limited permission needed to host, transmit, process, encrypt, transcribe, organize and display that content to people you authorize through Companion, solely to provide, secure, support and comply with law for the service.

We do not obtain ownership of your healthcare content by providing the service.

10

Acceptable use

Do not use Companion to break the law, violate another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights, access another user's account, probe security controls, introduce malicious code, overload the service, elevate your Care Circle permissions without authorization, or distribute information you have no right to disclose.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, third parties or comply with law.

11

Third-party services

Companion relies on service providers for hosting, authentication/storage, transcription and AI processing. Their availability can affect Companion. Kinvectum remains responsible for its own obligations to you and for choosing processors as required by applicable data-protection law.

See the Privacy Notice for the current processing roles and retention information.

12

Availability and beta changes

We aim to keep Companion reliable but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, provider outages, browser limitations, network conditions and experimental changes may interrupt features.

Companion is currently free for individual users during this stage. If paid features are introduced, pricing and any additional payment terms will be shown before you incur a charge. Mandatory consumer rights can apply even where a digital service is provided without a monetary price.

13

Deleting accounts and care profiles

Deleting a patient's/subject's own account deletes the care profile whose subject they are, including its shared Care Circle state and memberships, subject to limited processor/security retention described in the Privacy Notice.

Deleting a helper's login does not delete another person's activated care profile merely because that helper helped create or manage it. The helper's membership ends with that account. Abandoned pending assisted-setup profiles can also be removed when they have no other active member.

Deletion cannot retract information that was previously sent or copied elsewhere.

14

Intellectual property

Kinvectum and its licensors retain rights in the Companion software, design, trademarks and other service materials, excluding your content. These Terms give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive right to use Companion as intended while the service is available.

15

Responsibility and liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits mandatory rights you have as a consumer. Within those limits, Companion is an assistive memory and organization service and Kinvectum is not responsible for clinical decisions made by a healthcare professional or for decisions made solely from unverified AI/transcription output contrary to the product warnings.

Any limitation of liability is subject to applicable Swedish and EU/EEA consumer law.

16

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Swedish law, without taking away mandatory protections that apply to you as a consumer in your country of residence. EU/EEA consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in courts that have jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.

Please contact info@kinvectum.com first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it.

17

Changes

If we materially change these Terms, we will present the new version before it becomes binding where required. We will not treat silence as explicit health-data consent. The current version is identified at the top of this page.
